Our newest homeowners at Oxford Meadows have lots to celebrate – not only did they just pick up keys to their amazing new home in Gomersal, they also recently got married (with their new neighbour taking the important role of best man)!
Jess and Christian Zottola have had an exciting twelve months. The arrival of their second child in December meant they desperately wanted a larger home for their growing family, and they fell in love with a spacious 4-bedroom detached property at our Oxford Meadows development. Just months before moving in, and despite the pandemic delaying their vows, they finally tied the knot in June and now get to start the next journey of family life in their dream home in Gomersal.
They say neighbours become good friends, but for the Zottola family it was the other way around! Jess, Christian, and their two children have readymade friends on the development, as their close friends moved in a few weeks ago and were special guests at their wedding. Now the Zottola’s are excited about settling into their new home and making more friends among the Oxford Meadows community.
Previously living in a 3-bedroom semi-detached home in nearby Birstall, Jess and Christian wanted more living space to start married life. Their old house had limited dining room and small bedrooms, so a larger home with a big open-plan kitchen was high on their tick list. When they discovered Oxford Meadows, they fell in love with the layout of their new Berkeley house design.
Jess explains, “It was the size of the kitchen that sold it to us. We really wanted a big kitchen that we could use as a dining and living space, as well as a cooking area. Our new kitchen is so spacious and really has the wow factor when we walk in – it looks ten times better than I even imagined! I can’t wait for my daughter to come home from school so we can spend time together in here and eat dinner as a family.”
With a 5-year old and a 9-month old, bedroom space was also a priority. “We’ve gone from both kids having quite small bedrooms to them both now having big rooms and they even have amazing views from their bedroom windows where they can see the sheep in their field!”, exclaims Jess.
Despite having a baby, a wedding, and a house move in the space of a year, Mr and Mrs Zottola say the whole experience has been stress-free: “The buying experience with Riva Homes has been fab! Clio was really helpful all the way through and always answered any questions quickly. We can’t fault it – it’s made the whole thing really smooth and easy.”
